கல்லிலே கலை வண்ணம் கண்டான் ...

1. It is well with me only I have a chicel in my hand.

கையில் உளி ஒன்று இருந்தால் அது மட்டும் எனக்குப் போதும்.

2. Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.

கல்லிலே கலை வண்ணம் காண்பதே சிற்பியின் வேலை.

3. The marble not yet carved can hold the form of every thought the greatest artist has.

செதுக்கப்படாத பளிங்குக்கல் கலைஞனின் ஒவ்வொரு எண்ணத்தையும் தன்னகத்தே கொண்டுள்ளது. 

4. The more the marble wastes, the more the statue grows.

எவ்வளவுக்கு எவ்வளவு பளிங்கு கரைகிறதோ அவ்வளவுக்கு அவ்வளவு சிலை வளர்கிறது.

5. I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set her free.

பளிங்குக்கல்லில் அந்த தேவதை கட்டுண்டு கிடப்பதை நான் கண்டேன், பின்னர் அந்தக் கல்லைச் செதுக்கி அவளை விடுவித்தேன்.
